Welcome Dallas!

Last pregnancy picture. . .before we left for the hospital.

Dallas with his eyes open.

So, I will keep this post brief and not full of crazy details. On Monday I was very busy. I went shopping, cleaned up the apartment, wrapped our Christmas presents, and finished a couple of projects. Nesting if you want to call it that. I have a hard time sitting still on my day off.

Later that night Justin got home after his final and had to finish up a couple of things for his last class so we did not go to bed until shortly after midnight. Well, at about 1:15 my water broke much to our surprise. I think Justin was about to have a heart attack he was so in shock. We called the hospital and due to not having the results of a test I had on the 2nd at my last doctor appointment they wanted us to come in. We arrived at the hospital at 1:45.

I was comfortable and doing fine. At 7ish am they checked me and I was only dilated to a 2. I knew at that point I was in for the long haul. My contractions were starting to get more intense and somewhat uncomfortable. They gave me some pain medication via my IV at around 11am. This helped for about an hour and then my contractions were much worse. I was checked again at this time and was dilated to a 5. Half way there and hurting. . I decided that natural child birth was no longer an option for me. As Justin put it. . . I tapped out at that point. Bring on the epidural!!! I don't remember much for a bit as I was just kind of spacy and content. My contractions we more frequent and closer together, but I was no longer in pain. At least I was able to rest and enjoy the rest of the evening. The next time they checked me I was dilated to a 9. Shortly after that they decided it was time to push. 35 minutes later Dallas Lee entered the world. He weighed 6lbs 11 oz, 17 3/4 inches long, and had a full head of dark thick hair!! He is so sweet and Justin and I are so in love with this little boy!!!

Thanksgiving and beyond!

Justin and I went to my Mom and Dad's house for Thanksgiving this year. It was a lot of fun and there was a lot of good food and laughter shared. Our Black Friday shopping tradition continued. . .however we did not brave the crowds at 4:30 am like we have in the past. We decided 7 am was just fine. :) Anyway, We have so much to be grateful for and it would be difficult to list all of our blessings. But, we do recognize them and feel so fortunate.

We are also anticipating a busy Christmas so we have jumped the gun on decorating. Our apartment is ready for Christmas and we are done with our Christmas shopping. Now we just need to make sure we are ready for Dallas.

November- The Thankful Month

I haven't been doing the daily "I'm thankful for. . . " status updates on facebook, but decided that I should really express my thanks for the many many blessings that Justin and I enjoy.

I'm thankful for Justin. We've been married for going on 4 years and I can't imagine my life without him.

I'm thankful for family. There is no other support system like it.

I'm thankful for our jobs. We have been blessed more thank we realize.

I'm thankful for our little man Dallas. I can't wait to meet him next month.

I'm thankful for the Gospel and all that it includes. It is a major staple in our lives.

I'm thankful for good friends.

I'm thankful for laughter. Life would be so boring without it.

Anyway, I have so much to be thankful for. The list could go on and on. :)

Little kicks. .

Our little one has karate moves already. I had a doctor appointment today and discovered that he has his feet tucked up under my ribs. Lucky me! We've been having fun watching my tummy grow mostly because it means he is getting bigger and we've been able to feel and see his movements. So amazing. Anyway, for the people that have asked. . here is a photo for you to enjoy.

Happy Momma!

Our Beautiful Baby BOY!!

We had our anatomy ultra sound this week and found out that we are having a BOY! We are so excited and feel so blessed that he is healthy and doing well. We are still deciding on a name for him. I guess when he starts moving where I can feel him a little more we'll be able to decide on a name for him. . but who knows. We may need to see him first. :) We are already in love with this little boy. He has captured our hearts. :)
